Pantone announced that their official colour of 2015 was Marsala, a rich brownish-red tone.
While the shade has been interpreted in many ways - from a dark maroon to a plummy purple, at WedLuxe we are most inspired by "the colour of the year" when we focus on its more vibrant tones that visually run more akin to Garnet, which happens to be the gemstone of January. We prefer to be inspired by the true shade of the Sicilian wine for which the colour was named, by using wine-drenched tones of merlot and burgundy. Whether featured in a floral arrangement, as a bold lip colour or even in the groom's tux (à la Ryan Gosling), Marsala (here forward referenced internally as MERLOT) is a sophisticated shade that pairs seamlessly with metallics and ivory, making it the perfect statement colour for winter weddings. We'll toast to that! ~~ by WedLuxe Magazine.
